Almighty and everlasting God, Who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire. Most heartily we commend this nation to thy merciful care, that being guided by thy Providence, we may dwell secure in thy peace. Grant to all in authority, wisdom and strength to know and do thy will, and strike down those who lead us astray. Make them ever mindful of their duty and calling to serve thy people in thy fear; for thou, O Lord, are no buttercup; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.
